Gallery Ehva
daring and beautiful art

. . . . . . .

Dear Friends,

Sorry, we're closed now.

I could not keep gallery open for more then one reason, but the biggest one was me. I did not feel I was strong (and smart) to contine. I needed rest: do nothing time, be closer to Earth, Sea, Sun, Sky, my cat Bikini and my dog Hana.

Do I miss it? Yes! I miss our dinners, painting Easter eggs, my freedom to do with our space whatever I wanted to do, I miss people, soup and bread openings... I miss our little "community".

Do I miss ART? Not now. I am fine having my hands dirty, working in my garden.

What I do now? Hmmm, little art, lots of cooking...

Who I am now? Rebel, definitely!

So, be well my friends and thank you for letting me love you. I know we'll see each other, sonner or later.

-- Yours, always, Ewa

David Paulson

I am deeply moved by work of artist David Paulson... he will have exhibit at Gallery Ehva August 30-September 10, 2013 with opening on Friday, August 30, 6-8pm, together with Rob DuToit (and Ken Horri and Susan Lyman). I feel like I was waiting 5 seasons at the gallery to show painter of David's sensibility... yes, he eats paint for breakfast and canvas is his night blanket. -- Ewa Nogiec

Vitae

Born: March 20, 1955

David Paulson was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1955. He is an alumnus of the Swain School of Design and the Parson's School of Design graduate program for painting. David L. Smith, a student of the German abstract artist Hans Hoffman in the 50's was a strong influence in David's artistic development. While at Parson's, Paulson studied with Leland Bell andPaul Resika, both of whom were themselves influenced by Hoffman's teachings.

During his fifteen years in New York City, Paulson made hundreds of visits to the great paintings housed in the city's museums. He engaged exclusively in figure painting from the studies of the paintings he saw at the museums and galleries.

Desiring a physical change from the ever changing campus of the city, he established his current studio in the Hudson Valley Region.
